I have a great running outboard motor that I am going to use this year on my 12' jonboat.<br />The numbers on the motor are:<br /> E15 RL CEC 082754115411<br />Can anyone tell me what it is?<br /><br />Thank you very much

Looks like you have a 1989 15 hp Evinrude rope start 20 " shaft.

FYI<br /><br />If you mount he 20" shaft on your jon boat you are going to have to raise it up about 5" as most jon boat transoms are cut for a short shaft 15".<br /><br />The bottom of your ventilation plate needs to be even with the bottom of the baot.

FYI - FYI - Nothing in the rule book of motors that says you can't run a long shaft motor on a short shaft transom. I run a long shaft 9.9 on my 13' & it runs fine. Might perform better with a short shaft but performs OK as is.
