What is my pontoon worth

I have a 94 Aqua Patio Pontoon with a 94 Mercury 40 HP outboard. I'm thinking about selling it locally and wondered what the boat is worth due to some issues I have with it. I looked on NADA and it says its worth 6K. Seems high. Breakdown: Tandem 24' trailer $865, Motor $720, Boat with bimi and cover $4425.

The engine has an overheat problem. Starts fine. Runs fine under 4000 RPM's. Go over 4000 too far and you get overheat alarm. Replaced impeller twice, just recently installed a water pressure gauge and I never exceed 13 psi. Water gets hot when alarm goes off. I think it is in fact overheating at high RPMS. Some sot of blockage I guess. We never go fast so it has never been a big deal. It starts every year easily though. Lights on boat and trailer work.

Trailer tires are getting old and I actually just replaced one with a new tire. Seats have covers and also just purchased a 24' 600 denier nylon cover for storage. New Battery too.

Its used. Three owners one being my Dad. It cleans up well but it is old.

Thoughts on what you think I should sell it for.
Thanks

These days, I'll bet you could get 8K for that setup if you fixed the motor and got another tire. Take it to a merc mechanic, or post in the Mercury outboard section for advice. The trailer makes it all the more attractive. Pontoon boats are in high demand these days, despite what the blue book says. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately we don't have any good Merc mechanics in our area. Have to drive a couple of hours. I'm really wanting to sell without repairing engine since I have a newer boat coming. Thinking about asking $4500 and see what happens.

I'd replace the other trailer tire and ask $5500 and put a detailed explanation of the overheating problem in the ad. That gives you some negotiating room. As was stated earlier, used pontoons are hard to find and this is prime season

Like a lot of things it depends on condition and location, with motor problems around here its worth about 2000.00

Was thinking about the overheating thing. Have you posted a note over in the engine forum? Betting the right guys could troubleshoot that problem pretty quickly. It doesn't sound like that big a deal? It could be something as simple as a head gasket.

Selling a boat with known engine issues is kinda like selling it without an engine. Value is going to take a huge hit compared to something ready to go. The ready to go price vs. an "as is" price could easily pay for the repair?
