What is Quicksilver Dri-Fuel's shelf life approximately? Will Dri-Fuel serve the purpose of StaBil? Can or should both be used in the same fuel? I?m ready to treat a 6-gal batch of fresh fuel. I?m finding what I know is fresh StaBil and Dri Fuel over a year old. I only burn 6-12 gallons of fuel a year, which contributes to the additives getting old. Thanks In Advance! jow

Don't need both.As long as the Dri stuff is not opened it should be good.
Dri-gas is for water in the gas.Stabil is used to stop fuel from breaking down.
PROFILE??Where do you live. You have Ethanol in your gas?
Ethanol will break down and seperate,so will the oil if it sets long enough.I hear it's 9mo or more.
The thing to do is make sure the tank stays full and no condensation will form.Use non-ethanol gas if possible.J

Re: What is Quicksilver Dri-Fuel's shelf life approximately?

Thanks for the reply. I live in the Dallas Fort Worth, TX Area. The Chevron Station?s pump had 10% ethanol posted on it. The Dri-Fuel has been opened at least a year and the StayBil has not been open a year. I try to make 5-8 short fishing trips Fall-Summer and use left ?over gas in yard equipment/chainsaws (with added oil mix if needed).

I know the old technology of run the tank /carb dry or leave them full from servicing small engines. I had not practice leaving fuel in a small engine until I started using StaBil. I have not run a small engine dry in years w/o a problem.
