I have tried many kinds of line for leader.I thought that using POWER PRO 65 LB would be the best and it does not resist abrasion the tarpon or the larges snook give it. I was recomended to use ANDE, STREN,ETC. I will leave it to you guy's to recomend what you use. The most recomendations of a brand will be MY CHOICE . by the way, WHAT IS THE BEST KNOT TO TIE LINE TOGETHER.

You can search the web and find some good info. This is the knot I use for joining line or rope, fishing or rigging. I learned it in boy scouts and its one thats easy to remember. This site calls it a blood-knot but I know it as a barrel-knot(same thing).

You can tow a car and easily un-tie it. It also keeps a tight slender profile with is good running thru the rod eyes. There may be a better knot for this but I probably wouldnt remember it 10 minutes later.

web page

For tarpon and snook, everybody I know and myself use 60 -80 lb flourocarbon. Very tough and abrasion resistant and also hard for fish too see. This heavy line is hard too tie, so I use a regular double overhand knot to make a loop and then tie my line to this loop with an improved clinch knot. I make another loop on the lure end and install a large split ring, which I use to attach lures or hooks. This way i have no snaps( which tarpon and jacks can destroy) and I dont have to retie every time I change lures.
