I realize that this answer could be buried deep within this forum somewhere. I did a little search but didn't quite get the clearest suggestions, so I thought I would bump this one up to the top with a new thread.
Basically, the paint on my transom is cracking and peeling along the top edge of the transom. I'm concerned about moisture soaking into the wood and I would like to spend a day taking everything off it, sanding it all down, and then recoating with the appropriate primer and paint.
I know there are lots of folks out there doing repairs to their boats, and I was hoping you could chime in and let me know what the proper paint is (or send a link to a forum discussion that I overlooked). Also, what is the best product for filling holes. Mine has JB Weld and Marine sealant, depending on which hole your looking at. It's kinda messy looking.
Thanks in advance for the comments.
