What is the best way to apply alodine?

It says you can "brush" it on but I thought a spray bottle would be better....any thoughts from experienced users? And do I dilute it if I spray it??

I work in the airplane manufaturing industry and we appy alodine with a brush and let it sit and then rinse with water. Do not dulite it or it will not work as designed.
