Snook typically love structure. I've always has great luck with finger mullet/spoons.

I've definitely seen them out on the flats but always have best luck near structure.

near structure, near current rips at bridge pilings, seawalls, culverts, and of course any time it rains and they open locks on canals. snook seem to respond very well to mullet, but really matching whatever is the active bait in the area is the key.

I have been trying to catch snook for years on the pond near my house. I gave up though cause i found out that there was no snook in the pond. I waisted all that time!! But for real though i would love to catch snook. I see it a lot on fishing shows and it looks real fun. I get Vs. as the outdoor channel in my area and there is a lot of fishing shows that i love to watch when im relaxing on my day off. Looks like so much fun to catch snook!

As said earlier, use bait that there is at the site you are fishing. On saltwater flats, finger mullet and shrimp work well, around structures fingermullet and pinfish, around locks Oscars on a bobber seem to work wonders and on a jetty finger mullet, butterflied and anchored mullet or jumbo shrimp work well. i have had a lot of luck with pinfish and grunts freelined or bobbed.

i love fast water and a good shadow line and a bridge or dock, but make sure your tackel is big enough to pull a keeper away from structure or you will get a five second fight.

We pull them out of the mangroves by chumming them up with some live greenbacks that have been pinched, slightly wounded so they swim but not swim away. After noticing a few gettin gulped we freeline live greenies to em. Stout rod with at least 20# flouro with a 50# flouro leader. You don't want them to pull you back into the mangroves or it's cut off city.
