Hi everyone, earlier this week a trip to Pelee Island ended up being a terrible vacation. Due to 6-8 foot waves, made it there a day late, and couldn't leave for an extra day, I'm looking around for a boat more capable of making it across in such conditions, however the boat I want (Bayliner 2252) only has a deadrise of 21 degrees, which seems less than my Nova, so I would not be gaining anything in the wave chop department if so, what is the deadrise / hull angle of the Nova 210XL?

Around 24*. You can check it with a protractor.

I have a Nova 210xl too, it's deadrise is 24? Which is great for cutting through waves. You'll lose with the bayliner. If you want to battle legitimate 6-8' waves, you're going to need a much longer boat.
