Back in high school, a cute naturally blonde cheerleader wanted me to take her to Prom and I didn't. My hormones were raging for a different girl that didn't particularly like me. Naturally she turned me down. So I went stag and the cute naturally blonde cheerleader didn't go. I felt awful. Still do. Not to mention incredibly Stupid. :=

I let the love of my life divorce me when I was mired in a midlife crisis. That was more than dumb. It was megastupid.

That would be to not go into business with a friend in the trucking business, we both worked for the same company and he wanted to start on his own. I opted for the security of staying put he went ahead and started his own company with out me. You guessed it; the company I worked for went bankrupt five years later, and my buddy he is worth millions now. :|

High school dance (not the prom).. cept I chickened out and stood her up at the last minute... I later found out just how brutally upset the girl was.. I suspect that particular instance of bad karma has come back to haunt me ever since.....

Speaking of which... I was stood up Friday night..lol..in hindsight, it was probably a good thing..

Yup..I'ma firm believer in karma..

One of the more recent stupid things I did was to stand on the top of an eight foot ladder a couple of years ago while trimming some trees for my Mom.Lost my balance and fell on one leg to the concrete drive and fractured the heck out of my left heel bone and as a result ended up with a ruptured disc in my lower back.Prior to that,I had no other serious injuries over my long industrial career.I wish I could live that day over again and do things differently.Life goes on.

Retire now. I'm almost 58. Everything I have is paid for and 1.5M in the bank. Should I quit and enjoy life or keep plugging?

The second dumbest thing i never did......... Maybe the #1 thing....

Acre lots, west of town in the swamp......10-15+ years ago going for around $7500 a pop, + or -...... Today...... $100K - $200K+, same lots.......

If I had been wize, i'd be retired today... having made a truckload of $ in real estate (florida swampland)...

Back in 2000 felt to sell the portfolio and invest in "safer" things. Decided against it because of the capital gains tax I would have to pay. Left for Ghana and before I knew it the portfolio was valued at less than 1/2 what is was when I wanted to sell.

Smartest thing I did? Didn't panic. Portfolio is back to where it was, plus. Invest for the long term, with a plan. It pays off in the end.
