What is the fairvalue for this Superhawk...

Sorry folks, another newbie question about this boat on local CL: http://denver.craigslist.org/boa/2894012362.html

It's a 2002 Cresliner Superhawk 1600 - using Nadaguides I was able to determine that it's the entry level 16' model for that year with Suggested Retail of $7950 - if that's true, this may be a good buy.

The ad doesn't say if he has any covers for the boat (travel or bimini) or if there is a livewell on it... I sent him an email, hope he writes back (70% of the CL people dont even reply).

Is this a good value for that boat? He's about 4hrs away from me (again).

I have seen people in my neck of the woods pay a lot of money for that 2-stroke 90 yamaha.

I will just say some folks think they were the best thing since sliced bread. I dont know anything about superhawk boats or their value in your area. With said, IMO you would not have a problem re-selling a boat with that engine if there are no environmental restrictions for 2-strokes in your area.

I would call since they left a phone number. some don't respond to emails. not everyone checks their emails often.

+1 - There are SO MANY nonsense email replies to craigslist ads, many sellers simply won't reply to emails.

If there's a phone number - you need to call.

Yes - I did call him and left a message. Waiting...

Regarding posting on CL - I no longer list my number on there because I get crazy people calling. Instead, I insist that people include a pass-phrase when responding to my ad or else I don't respond. Weeds out the robots and those who can't follow simple instructions. Works for the most part...
