On the wiring diagram for my 5.7 gsi pefs there is a pink wire in the harness that goes from distributor to the coil. I can find no information on what it does or how to check it. Does anyone know what happens if that goes bad? Or how to check it
Number 22 on the attached file

Don't understand why VP uses a inductor on a DC circuit (they resist current and not voltage changes) but that is not your question

Use a ohm meter and measure the resistance. It should be 1 to 20 ohms or so. If its much higher then that, it's bad

The inductor in series in a DC circuit like that blocks AC noise. Its basically just a low pass filter.
