What is the proper torque for....

I replaced the exhaust looking gasket separating the antifreeze reservoir, the # 4 bolts are large I think 5/16 head. I put them at 40 Ft Pounds. Does this sound correct?

manual #8 has it listed as 30Ft/lbs

Well then, I guess I should not losen them to 30 ??

I think it's probably time you got your own service manual, don't you?

Free advise on problems is the main format of these forums, not 'what torque for....'
