I have a 1998 BET series yam 55 hp 2 cyl 2 stroke, iv been running it at a mixture of 50.1 as this is what the previous owner said was the right mix and a call to my local yam mechanic agreed
iv had he motor for two years and runs good although it can take some starting at times.

while reading the original owners manual I noticed the recommended fuel oil mix states 100.1 for the 55 hp and then 50.1 for the 60 and above hp

any advice would be appreciated

regards tony

I believe Yamaha tried 100:1 for a short period of time, but returned to the standard 50:1.....The very thin 100:1 mixture doesn't offer the internal corrosion protection, although for lubrication purposes it was just adequate. Most folks stay with the 50:1 Good Luck!:)
