What is this bolt called?

This "J" shaped bolt is used to attached the windshield to the boat and slips through the lower frame and then down below the surface. I'm missing a couple and need to replace them but have not found any on the numerous "fastener" sites out there.

Anyone know the formal name for them and better yet where I can find them?

Thanks

I have a feeling you need to visit a hardward store and you will end up making those bolts. They appear to be made to order and not to difficult to make.

That thought did occur to me too but I'm not seeing any signs of heat being applied. The rust you see is from the nut rather than the bolt itself which is SS.

It's not your typical carriage bolt because it doesn't have the square box under the head.

At all points where the windshield frame bolts to the deck, there are holes where the bolt is inserted and then turned downward to go through the hold in the deck. The rounded head is more for asthetics.

Any Evinrude/Johnson owners (or others) know if a boat salvage yard in the Dallas area? There might be some parts or other options there.

it is a carriage bolt bent at 90 degrees. You can also bend a T bolt at 90 degrees used to hold down a toilet..
Or call PCMW at 604-540-7269 and we will sell you windshield hardware and parts, and ever the entire windshield. ask for Cameron.

Hey thanks for the info. I knew there was a flat headed 90 degree bolt out there somewhere but I couldn't recall that it was used on toilet flanges. I'll check that out as well as what PCMW has to offer!

Thanks again!
