Re: What is this bore doing?

There are 3 Ignition points on the Yamaha ??? I am too long out since tuning a 2 stroke... :D

Two marks between wheel and housing looking like screw heads (the third one you have to immagine)

the piston position according to the ignition... this one is clear to me. a little before dead point

This one starts stressing me. A second "post" ignition point??

And this keeps me drinking beer. What the hell is that ignition point for?

I have no advice but I just want to say, as a Canadian who understands what beer is all about, I completely understand and agree with your reasoning.

Re: What is this bore doing?

both are "rubber boats" 2 meter length (dingi or pee taxi boats- having a dog on board) different maker but almost the same.

Don't forget about optimizing the "hull"! While I have zero experience with inflatables, I feel certain there are some tricks like anti-friction treatments, over-pressurizing the tubes, etc. that will help it perform better. Try to tap into the inflatable racers world and see what they are doing. There is a forum for "Inflatables" here on iboats.com. Good luck!

Re: What is this bore doing?

Hi Guys,

I did a lot of thing during the last weeks/month. I will upgrade by photos little later. selfmade CFK intake, weight reduced components, changed exhaustport and intake as well, tuned all channels, installed adjustable ignition point, raised compression, changed carb design, new resonance exhaust muffler (outside the engine) and and and....

What i still don't check is what the 3 Ignitions points are used for????

Any idea?

Thanks
Oliver

Re: What is this bore doing?

Looks like a winner to me. Good luck!

Thanx a lot! I'm jumping back into my cellar to get the NOS system added (to cover tuning mistakes, if any) and some smaller issues fixed.

If i win the race it's the most expensive beer i ever had. Except the one i had on Reeperbahn in Hamburg city :D:D:D

I'l let you know the result.

Re: What is this bore doing?

The german beer is far away...

I am pritty much sure that the fuxxing CDI does have an RPM limmiter. Moving the ignition point of the coil dosnt give me a max. rpm change

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ozdnzcpu-HU

I have to find a CDI without a rpm limmiter or i have to setup a fixed ignition point......

The samll enginie should speed up in idle to death, but it does't.

That sounded pretty good. It didn't seem as though you kept the throttle open enough to see it rev up?

So far, it looks AWESOME!

Hi dazk14,
i did WOT. The little motor wount get to extreme high rpm. I did change the ignition point to much earlier than the fixed original 6? without significant rpm change.

I will find out tomorrow. It's late in Germany now...

Makes no sense to add the NOS system by now if the motor wount get drive himself to death in idle....

Best regards Oliver

That's gotta be the coolest thing I've ever seen!

I'm sure you already know this... It appeared the other day the motor was not immersed in water.

Was it in water or did you remove the water pump to prevent it from burning up?

Just wanted to doublecheck to make sure you be enjoying a cold one on race day!

Hi dazk14, happy that you enjoy my winter work.

I did give a shi- on the impeller when i tested the small engine in my celler. But i did not let him spinn too long without water.

Today i changed the CDI box to one from an 50ccm standard bike by rewirering (they are prepared to a lot more rpm than an small outboard)

What you can hear is approx 8000 rpm. I did move the ignition point a lot more in direction of "early" I have to check where it is now...

I also put in a smaller!!! carb nozzle to make it more agressive. shi- on live time...

The NOS System i have to upgrade to more volume than the present 16 gramm N2O.
I'll get one pressure bottle with 0,5 Liter volume. This should ceep me hopefully in pole position.

The race is in the evening of the 15th of July in croatia, local time. The looser must spend german beer and he must whear a nice red woman string tanga by saying good bye as well. I fear that there will be some guys doing video for youtube...

I'll let you know. But i will not stop tuning this peace of shi- unless i do have almost 3 weeks left to do better. Dont know what he is doing..... I only know that red string tangas dont fit well to me :D:D

Best regrads

Re: What is this bore doing?

Definitely keep us posted.

Have you tried out your force gauge, now that you've got it running?

"But i did not let him spinn too long without water."

Even 20 seconds dry can burn up an impeller...you may want to replace it, since you'll need all the cooling you can get.

WOW! I hope to god the race video makes it to youtube. I want to see more of this little beast in action. Reminds of the video Chevrolet sent to Ford about the Corvette ZO6, with the 2 guys picking up the car and moving it (without the engine and drivetrain of course). Scared the crap out of Ford and the people that got to watch the video were in awe.

Hi Will, one of my problems are that this race will be on youtube for sure :D

Beeing from Europe means that i have no idea what the Chevy-Ford video was about.

Next weekend i will test that thing on a lake. If it got enough power to get my small, less than 6 feet rubber dinghi to plane on water surface, i do have a very good potential to win the race.

If it does i fear that it is almost not rideable on plane. (too short)

I will find out....

If the pitch of the prop. is too small now, i will carry a video cam to get the change of the face of the professional prop. remanufacture in cologne city into youtube when i will tell him that i wanna have 2 inches more pitch out of this small aluminum kind of a toy propeller :D

It's all for fun only. Our stay on earth is short enough....
