Hi,
I just recently got this 91 140hp Evinrude and would like to add a tach but not sure how.
I see this cable on the engine and wonder is this is what it is or am I looking at a wrong place?
And if I am looking at the wrong place, what is this cable for and where is the right place?
Attached is the close up and the far view of the connector.

Thanks

I see that someone has installed a regular ( simple ) fuel pump.-------The connecter is part of the oil warning circuitry and can now be ignored since you are mixing the fuel / oil at 50:1-------Most factory tachometers plug into the control box , so see your friendly dealer for some advice !!

The tachometer is wired in up at the control lever. There might be a small plug that us unused on the control box but the tach hooks up to the wiring in the box........ sometimes you get lucky and have a plug and sometimes you need to splice into the harness

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the previous owner told me that some one before him converted from the injection to the 50/1 mixing, so that makes total sense about the dangling connector..

I do have a plug available on the control console, wonder if one of this cables on ebay would work?
