I am trying to restore an 85 hp evinrude ( 1980). Having problems starting . While examining the fuel lines I discovered a hose that terminates near the t fitting on the fuel lines and does not have anything to hook up to. It looks like a fuel line attached to the bottom of the engine block. I am attaching a photo. The hose end can be seen just below the fuel pump. Can anyone tell me what it is ? The fuel lines are attached to the carbs and this does not seem to be part of it.hose.jpg

Look for and find a nipple on the bottom of the airbox that fits in front of the carburetors.-----That is where it goes and it is there to drain any fuel that might spill from carburetors.----Think safety.

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated. There is a small nipple on the airbox. The hose doesn't fit too well but I can fix that.
