What is this little knob for?

I have noticed on my 1970 Johnson 9.5 HP motor that there is a knob that adjusts for low and high speed(lean/rich)settings. What is the purpose of this
knob? Never seen anything like this on an outboard!

one is for high speed jet other is for idle jet just settings for carberator

It is a lean rich adjustment for your slow speed. High speed is fixed. Look at the top of this forum for Top Secret Stuff and learn more. Rick.
