Hi All,

Please excuse my ignorance in this area. I am looking for a part for my 1997 Evinrude 150 HP V6 engine. The problem is that I do not know the name of it, nor where to get it.

The piece is a black plug that screws into the back of the engine. I'm guessing it's part of the cooling system, since water spits out of it when the engine is running. I unscrew it after every trip to flush out any salt and sand with freshwater. Unfortunately, the last time I unscrewed it, it went in the drink. Could it be called a Freshwater flush plug??

Any help on what this is called and where I can get one is greatly appreciated. Also, how dangerous is it to run the engine with this plug not installed. The only difference I can see is that a lot more water spits out than with the plug.

Thank you.

Not sure of the proper lingo, but if you ask a parts guy for a pisshole nozzle or a tell-tale nozzle for a 97 150 hp, he'll know what you mean (or find a better parts dude). If you wait, someone familiar may chime in with a parts #.

Overboard indicator(plug) is the part name.
If ya' tell'em that and the info on your motor a part number should not be needed.Good luck.
