What is this part piggybacking my Merc 3.0 starter?

Hey Friends, I have my Mercruiser 3.0 (Serial # M324386) engine out and am replacing a bunch of electric parts. Please refer to the photo I attached of the rusty part that is bolted to the back of my starter and connects a few wires to it. What the heck is it? What is it's purpose? Where can I find a replacement?
I have about 90 days of dive contract work coming up this summer. Must have this ole queen back on the water!
