Its a 93 johnson 225.I just got replacing the fuel pump and I noticed that the lowest carb was leaking. So I took the cover of the carbs Found what carb it was and fixed it. The i noticed a piece of 90 degree hose that was inbetween the two banks of carbs. I took the hose of and it had some stuff in it. Blow out the hose and cleared it. The I look though were the hose went connected and it look like there was something in there. I got a torch tip cleaning kit and tryed to past the smallest wire though the fitting but no luck. What is that fitting for. It looks like it goes into the intake manifold. Do I have to clean it out or let it be. Thanks

I dont see any valve. It comes out of the front lower part of the intake manifold and goes into the air box between the two bottom carbs then there is a 90 degree hose connected to it. The size of the hose is like the ones that come off the main hose tee feeding the carbs. I think it like 5/32 or something.

When the motor is running that hose has a small amount of vacuume to suck up excess fuel that puddles in the bottom of the sirbox.

So if it is clogged it would be a good idea to unclog it. I think I will, thanks Dhadley

Be real careful. The hole into the intake is very small, dont make it bigger. On performance motors we plug it anyway.
