This thing has 6 D size batteries in it.I did find these numbers inside it MN1300 ,LR20 but those appear to only be numbers for 1.5v batteries. So,it uses 9 volt battery power,,,,I'm still clueless any ideas ???

I have to admit, I haven't got a clue. I did search this morning on the web to see if I could figure it out but nothing seems to work for it. You stated you looked all over it and there are not numbers or clues to a manufacturer. Odd there isn't some little icon or mention of the manufacture. Usually manufactures love to post their names. I will keep watching this thread to see what it turns out to be. :noidea:

Government issue/contract... I'm still thinking something off a naval ship &/or military surplus.

It appears that the 9 volts is applied to whatever it goes to when the button on top of the handle is pressed.

The handle is free and spins itself so that the whole thing can be rotated or cranked.

To bad there isn't some search engine that you can post a photo to and search for what it is. Maybe somebody needs to design such a computer ability. :thumb:

I'll admit I've spent some time since this thread started on google image searches, trying any keywords I thought might bring up a similar looking object... Nothing...

At this point, I wish I'd never seen the damn thing ;)

I have tried a reverse image search that has yielded no results. Nothing even close. The only thing I can think of is some sort of light system. Maybe a trouble light to signal other boats when in distress.

Yea I know what you mean. But now I am really wanting to keep watching to see what it does turn out to be.

I will say that it kind of looks like some type older marine signaling handle that operates the typical shutter light signaling device. But that is just a stupid gut feeling on my part and I seriously don't know. I have looked at a few of them now and it would certainly account for the batteries and the handle for such a device. But such low voltage and current capability just doesn't seem to fit that premise. :noidea:

Just going on the amount of battery's and its source, maybe part of an old air tow behind inflator?

Oh this is a good one. I am going to print off some good pics and drop them off at the Royal Canadian Navy Legion tomorrow when I'm in the city. If they don't know what it is they will make something plausible up.
