I know nothing about boats and I see where people refer to wot . What does that mean? Can some one also tell me how to grease the steering cable?

When the motor runs good it's Wide Open Throttle. When the motor is broke it's Where's Our Tech? Right after that -- What's On Tap?

Mix yourself up a nice batch of oil/grease combination. Stick that in a grease gun and pump it into the grease nipple on the steering cable. No grease nipple??? No problem.. 2 solutions, one - buy a proper cable with a grease point, or two - remove the cable from the engine and work the oil/grease into the cable like this. Trust me, it's easier to buy a new cable.

WOT is the abbreviation for Wide Open Throttle. Has nothing to do with actual performance, per se. It's just that you are asking the engine for max performance by firewalling (pushing all the way forward.....hence into the firewall) the throttle. If she is in the mood, she "runs good". If not, "Where's our Tech", as Mr Hadley stated.

WOT ratings are the benchmark for engine performance. Seems if she makes her numbers there, operation in the rest of the operating range has proven (in most cases) to do no harm to the engine and history has proven that the upper end of that range is the preferred place to be..........at WOT. Grin
