Re: What kind of boat(s) do you own?

Wow - decribe the fleet, eh? OK ...

1972 SeaCraft SeaFari 25 w/ frustratingly RARE 215E MerCruiser 302 Ford engine mildly worked, 750 CFM Holley four barrel carb and TorkerII camshaft, cleaned up ports
I call it the USS NeverSail, but when finally running in the water, will be christened SeaMasterZ

1971 Starcraft 18 Runabout, 1972 Johnson 125 (engine is called The Incredible Bulk, The Beast, dirty !@$$#@!# monster piece of shiot, etc)
The Starcraft is the reincarnation of the 14 foot Nichols semi V aluminum open boat I misspent my youth in, it will carry on the legend of Hydrophobia

1969 Crestliner 18 Runabout, 1962 (?) 35 HP Johnson, bought for the trailer but repaired back into active duty by rebuilding the bashed in bow eye area with wood and MarineTex - bow cut thru 2 hours of bad del bay storm back in 88, totally dry in the bow ... the rest of the boat, well, thank god for bilge pumps, lol, del bay kicks up in a heartbeat!
Ol Jonnie churns the water but it is not a speed demon, hence the name Chugboat Annie

And of course, little Willie, Willie Runn, the pinch hitter for the whole lot of em, the 1961 ten horse evinrude slated for aux duty for whatever boat is heading out that day ... with the exception of Hydrophobia, I will find a 9 1/2 shroud for it to run on these big ol reserviors, I am sure she doesnt make 9.9 horsepower, but you know politicians and the po - lice, anything to screw the public over

Sparky is the unknown vintage Motor Guide trolling motor, 28 pounds of thrust if memory serves - somewhere in the late 80's I guess, has LED power meter built into it

Thats the fleet, none of them ready for the water, but I am ready to get em going!

In Memoriam: the original SeaMaster 16 center console and the Formula 23 foot step hull cuddy both were violating some bullship registration laws in Villas in 2000, so off they went to the Crusher - the hand built hull of the SeaMaster held the weight of the massive steel wheeled machine that ran it over TWICE, he finally smashed it with a blade the size of a small movie theater screen - kinda neat in a heartbreaking way, the same machine crushed the much bigger Formula without any visible sign of doing so ... didnt slow down, didnt rise up, just the absolute disintigration of all that lovely (albeit in great need of work) boat into splinters beneath those nightmare spiked wheels - poor boats!

Poorer me, cost me 250 in flatbed and landfill fees!

But right to the bitter end, they are holes in the water that you throw money into, lol

Over the summer I added a few more Kickers into the mix ....

1966 Johnson 40 horse long shaft Super Sea Horse Electric Start

1960 Johnson 40 horse Super Sea Horse Electric Start parts motor

1967 Johnson 33 horse Super Sea Horse Electric Start running mate to the 1966 40 horse

and to get them running together nicely ...

A new old stock (that means BRAND NEW, woo hoo!) Johnson Dual Binnacle control, with all fittings

and a Teleflex steering system to replace the cables in Hydro

Also got a new single control for Chugboat Annie and her 35 horse Johnny

of course, on eBay there is a triple engine control ... I wonder if I could fit all three engines across the back of Hydro, lol

next year!

:p

and yet another edit ... the old 7.5 McCulloch has been unearthed, buried in Ye Olde Scrap Aluminum Pile, have to bring it over and drench it in a five dollar can of PB B'Laster, eh ... Ill put it on the little engine stand the 33 is on, its the same one it came on some 26 years ago, lol, cept now its properly set up

Re: What kind of boat(s) do you own?

I am a first time boat owner and I am in love with my 1987 Grew 168 16 foot bowrider with it's 80hp merc and 8 hp kicker. The only problem is that it is almost the end of boating season here and I must have it winterized , shrink wrapped and put it away in my back yard .I will be anxiously awaiting spring when I can get out to roam our many waterways and play with my wonderful toy.
