I just picked up a 14' Alumacraft which had a leak around some, one, just don't know how many rivits. There is a patch 6"x10" covering big area, I am not sure but it looks like it may have just been one but it seemes it pissed off one of it's previous enough to go nuts with such a big patch.
It has several kinds of sealents stuck to it trying to fix this problem.
I can get all of them off except this red crap that looks like bondo, when I use a wire wheel on a grinder it just melts and spreads. It also smells like iodine (for cuts).
I also tried to sand it but it clooged the paper almost imediately.
Any sugestions would be greatfuly appreciated.
On a side not this boat has a removable bow top ( aluminum ), I have not seen anything like this but it's not like I am anykind of expert either. Is this a common option?
