Re: What kind of Caulk?

I currently have the aft cabin interior panels out for sanitation line work, and there is no rot, and not much in that area that could rot. Behind that panel is wiring, sanitation lines, etc, otherwise it is an open area behind the side wall to the aft cabin.

I'm not sure why it wasn't made as a single piece, but the option to connect it is a decent one to look into.

If I were to caulk it, I would use a caulk gun, some tape, etc and make it look a lot better than it currently does.

You've got the interior panels out for sanitation work and have the ability to access everything inside? I would use epoxy as previously discussed, and never again be concerned with replacing caulk or caulks failure to keep a watertight seal due to age, wear, and adhesion failure.

At the moment yes I have the panels out and "access" to the area. When I say access I mean I can see behind that wall, not sure I could get myself up in there. The other main area I have to do this on, is the (I believe it is wood) main cabin bulkhead seams. I like the idea of epoxy, just not sure it's in the cards right now.

The marine store owner I spoke with recommended the life caulk that I picked up. I will use it and let you guys know how it holds up. It says it wont yellow, resists mold/mildew and should lay a nice seam.

I agree with the 3M. You can get 3M for above waterline only.Keep away from the Home Depot garbage. Home Depot is just what it says it is, Home. 3M will resist mold any uv.
