My boat has an 88 Yamaha 90 on it and a Yamaha 703 throttle control on the side of the center console. I mean on the actual side of the console where you can snag it if you walk by it. The control works fine but it looks like it was rigged to work on that console. Im completely restoring the boat and want to add a throttle control box that fits on the console next to the steering wheel. I looked at a Yamaha 704 throttle control box online and it looks like the one I want to install but I dont know if thats the one I need. What all is involved in changing throttle control boxes? Can I use the same harness and cables? Do I have to use a Yamaha throttle box or is there a universal one that will work? I noticed that the 703 control that I have on it now has the key, choke, and a safety kill switch on it and the 704 doesnt. Will I have to install all those separately?

I know there are a lot of questions but Im just learning about all this.

Thanks,
Charles
