what kind of lower unit lube?

i wasnt sure what to get, so my friends dad told me to use the same stuff he has. i cant remember the brand. but its a synthetic lower unit gear lube. he has a tiller. mine is a 71 merc 800. will i be okay?

go to walmart, supertech 80-90 lower unit oil is all you need.

Ayuh,... I use Mobil 1, in 75W-90....

But,.. Most any Syn-oil is acceptable....
