Once you get the hang of it, there nothing but a thing, but you have to get the right one too! You can't use a small inshore ARC to grab a large hook from a shark or other large fish. Really there worth figuring out...Like I said sharks and other fish don't like jewelry! It's just a shame the damn things cost so much!

yeah I realize the size differences and I'm not talking about smaller game fish. Have you actually used one on a large shark yet? They work but they do more damage getting a hook out then just leaving it in.

yes I have, and it took some getting used to, however I don't know how much, if any damage is done to the fish ... It's hard to say, I'd have to be in the water with him to see. you've got to give a good firm jerk/push to retreive your hook though

I'll tell ya what Capt. I won't use them on any poons though, that mouth is hard enough to get a hook to stick, I think it would be a real chore to extract one with the ARC, I think there would be some damage there, plus you can hold a poon!

tarpon usually fray the leader so bad it breaks anyways, speaking of tarpon have you guys seen any yet? I've spotted a few rolling down in the 10k islands but usually they seem to gather in your area first.

That's the biggest "fish" I've cought ever. Second time out fishing though. Definately not shooting for it, wanted something to drop on the grill :(

Going to the Key Largo hump as soon as my truck gets fixed, got rear ended pretty badly last week...

The shark is a Bonnetthead which is in the hammerhead family. In my area (South Carolina) they average 2-3 feet so a 4 foot would be a large one for this area.
