Hi, I have a 1990 force 120 hp motor and it needs a new lower unit. I'm wondering which lower units will work for this motor. I found a 1991 125 hp but I want to see if it would fit before I buy it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Logan

As long as both engines are the same length--that is either 20 inch or 25 inch the 1991 will fit. Additionally, if your lower unit has a two piece drive shaft and the new one also has a two piece drive shaft (Which I am pretty sure they both do), then length does not matter. You can use your existing upper drive shaft.

However, do try to insist that the upper drive shaft comes with the unit you buy. They are or were very expensive and difficult to get so having an extra will never hurt.

The 150 came with 3 different lowers. They came with 2 piece shafts.
Need pics of yours and the new one.
The gear ratio is the same for the 120/150.
According to the parts cross it should fit.J
