Anybody know what model or make is this control box I need to find out what cable end fittings I need to fit into the segregated oblong holes please

Not sure. Could you clean it up and see if you can see any numbers inside. Usually there are numbers casted into the inside and that could assist in who built it...

I have had a good close up look for a number but cant find one unless it is hidden under the cog gears

Looking at it's condition I think it would join the bad cable in the garbage.

Yes it does look bad, but it can be brought back to life with a little cleaning and maybe a sand blasting and painting as well. I cleaned up a stick steering unit that looks new now only to find out the Morse Command 2 stick steering does not make any replacement steering cable any more... But the point is old controls like this one can be made like new with just a little work...

Yes its worth saving the mechanism inside works smooth and perfect so i will do what you suggested sand blast and paint and post a picture when its finished
