what makes boat rock from side to side?

even if the sea in good condition and there is not much of waves, but the boat sill rock from side to side?!!

Do you own this boat? If so, learn a little more about boats and open water and take a boating safety course.

The reason they list side to side is because the hull is a v-bottom. if you step to the left side of the boat, it will list a little that way, even more on smaller boats, same with waves and wakes. I cant believe im explaning this, please do not drive that boat until you get proper traning and safety instruction.

Does it rock when you are driving or when sitting still? If it does when driving and there is no movement in the boat it could be Chine walking. There is a video of it on this forum somwhere.

i'm assuming yer problem is at speed, not at rest. i hate to compare yer 31cc to my last waverunner i had. but. my waverunner did that too. mostly at medium speeds. slightly above plane. listed port, then starboard, back and forth(chine walking). the only answer i had for it was change speeds, trim different, or put it in a slight turn to keep it leaning one way. i attributed this to a deep v hull design. a pretty steep deadrise. this waverunner was great in anything but calm still waters. then the side to side crap. wondering if in slightly chopy seas, does yer 31cc still do that? as soon as the waters got some chop on them , my waverunner didn't have this issue......i never cured my problem and learned to lived with it....the waverunner was a fx140 which for pwc is considered a very stable, chop eating hull. it just didn't like the calm seas at medium speeds......sorry about compareing yer 31cc to a pwc, but thought the situation seemed similar....

guess i'd go with a it be'in a v hull then, like diaboy says. my v hull boat leans alot when at rest too. if ya go from one side to the other. or even just floating about.......

Hull shape, the height of the center of gravity.
The size and number of keels/fins.A rounded bottom will tend to roll more than one with flatter hull sections
but will tend to ride smother at speed.
I think the motion of a larger boat can be more upsetting than that of a smaller one because the rolling speed is slower and possibly through a longer arc on a bigger boat.Some people get sea sick on a ship even with stabilizers.A top even relatively small top can change how a boat rolls.

at top speed 50kt would do it but not bad, but when it's still it will rock sooo bad.

Set the Anchor,........

The boat Won't Rock when facing the Waves...............

it looks to get a fairly light boat for it's length, this also play into the rolling factor, i am now running an aluminum deep v hull, that is 1000 lbs lighter than my last fiberglass, same size. it is extremely sensitive to weight distribution and movement in the boat.

You didn't explain, you just made a couple of senseless statements based on a question from one who might not have as much experience as yourself. I've had several safety courses and "why a boat rocks" wasn't covered in any of 'em. I'd suggest you go buy some common courtesy before driving that keyboard again! Jeez, some are just way too proud of themselves.

Not surprised since "what makes boat rock from side to side" is a dead giveaway as to your experience level. Hope you don't encounter something more serious that might have been covered in a boating class, learning by experience tends to be somewhat dangerous, not to mention expensive.
