What model and HP Elgin?

[Greg O.]

I just picked up this little Elgin, but I cannot make out the model number or horse power. I would guess somewhere around 5 hp. It runsbut needs a water pump impeller. Where can I find a water impeller? Thanks for any information.

might be a 1947 5.5 hp by the looks of the numbers

I found a site for Elgin motors, and according to the numbers stamped on the block it is a 47 5.5 hp.

No Title

There is a serial number list here. Numbers are stamped on the block.

Does anyone know where to get water pump parts for this motor. Seems to run nice, but not pumping water. The gas tank also needs cleaning as it is restricting the flow of gasoline. Otherwise seems like a solid motor.

I believe they both need your old impeller as they recycle the metal hub[/FONT]
