Don't forget fuel. Roughly 7 lbs. per gallon. And add a fudge factor of 5-10% for full coolers, batteries, etc. Why are you so concerned about a few pounds? Are you pulling with a Schwinn?

Contacted Starcraft Co. today, was refered to dealer in Montacllo. Did get some of info you requested. Boat wt. = 1250#. total payload = 2500#. Boat was designed & built for blue water. They said yes , integrity of bow would be affected by converting to open bow. but was aware it is done all the time? I have not given up on contacting Starcraft direct. Trailer info. dif. matter. Need #s from trailer in order to contact shoreline to recv. pertinent info. on trailer.;) Hope this helps some.

Hello Catfish good infor. on boat, was kindof hopping for a spec sheet that SC could scan and post, surprized they referred you to a dealer guess there more interested in selling a brand new boat.

Just found out this trailer doe'snt have electric brakes it has hydrolic brakes really don't have a clue about connecting brake line from a tow vehical to a trailer setup like this?

Catfish if you do get a chance to talk to SC can you ask the ?s for both the 1989 HL22' and the 1989 MR210
it would be nice to see the omitted SC broscures available.

Thanks STB

That's not how they work. It's all integrated into the trailer. Pressure on the coupler activates the brakes. http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/...ler electric brake conversion/Picture1467.jpg The tow vehicle needs nothing for them to work. Also, while brakes are always nice to have, they aren't really required on that sub-3k lb rig.

I haven't sean the front of the trailers tongue yet, I don't know if this device is mounted to tongue. I know the trailer has a regular 4 pin electrical connecter for tail lights blickers ect.

EZ are you saying that when the tow vehical slows this device inguages the trailers brakes? and there's no other required connections?

years ago a friend of mine had a 1978 Ford PU F150 truck he had a brake controller lever on the left side of his dash told me thats for trailer brakes w/ heavy payload not sure how this controller actualley worked.

Georga requires brakes at 1500 Lbs.
Florida requires brakes at 3000 Lbs

edit1: EZ why doe's this boat have 2 binimi tops one is attached to gunals for roof whats the other smaller top laying on floor for?

edit2: EZ do you think the blue paint on the side can be buffed to look new?

Thanks STB

Re: what model is this Starcraft

There are electric brakes, which I believe require a connection to the tow vehicle. The brakes on that trailer are most like what's called "surge brakes". The trailer surging forward as the tow vehicle slows pushes on the couple which acts as the brake pedal. The trailer should have it's only little master cylinder and what not all incorporated.

As for the tops, perhaps you've got a bimini top, and a convertible top. The convertible top attaches to the snaps on the front of the windshield and is made more for weather protection than the bimini.

Bimini (mine):

I wouldnt want brakes on something as relatively "light" as that Holiday is.
Just one more item to wear out, rust and fail.
Granted if your tow vechicle is a little wimpy they could be a good thing if maintained.

Wont find Ellectric brakes on a boat trailer unless its sling launched all the time. Surge master cylynder is on the tounge of the trailer. Regular wireing 4 prong should be whats on the present Connector.
