This has been my winter project. According to the registration it is a 1970, 16 foot Larson. Can anyone tell me the model? This is my first attempt at posting a picture, so I hope it works.

Bull Island Dave,
I had the exact same boat (for some reason I thought it was a '69 but I found out later it was a '70). I loved that boat but a tree fell on it so its gone. Your hull looks to be in great shape. Do you have the 18 gallon gas tank up front?

I had a roller trailer (ezloader) and it was super easy to launch and retrieve. I see you have carpeted bunks which usually means floating the boat on and off. Is that what you do?

If you want you side rub rails to be pristine white just use some rubbing compound like you use on the paint of your car or clorox soft scrub.

I do have the 18 gallon tank, but that big Merc uses that pretty quick. I usually carry a spare 6 gallon portable along just in case.

I put some liquid rollers on the carpeted bunks and it loads pretty easy. The trailer is not in good shape, but the boat ramp is only 1 mile away so it will have to do for now.

Thanks for the suggestion on cleaning up the side rails. I will give it a try tomorrow. This has been my first boat since I was a kid with a 12 foot Sears Gamefisher. I moved away from here for about 20 years with the Air Force, and am now retired trying to relive my childhood.

Dave

If the clorox or soft scrub doesn't work, Get some Goof-Off from Home Depot (paint department), that stuff work great on plastic/rubber.

Reel, are you sure that Goof Off is safe on the white vinyl? I did a google search on it and found warnings the solvent damages vinyl. There were also misc. posts complaining of problems it caused after use on vinyl type products (stains, dullness, etc.).

I guess there are many different kinds of Goof Off now (for different applications). Maybe water based Goof Off 2 is safe?

I use it on my bump rails. But would not use it on seat vinyl.
