Hi all,, I just picked up an 85 Starcraft. Not sure what model it is. I called Starcraft with the serial number off the title, but they couldn't tell me what it was. By description, the guy said it "sounds like a Supersport". Can anyone confirm that or tell me what model it is? It's a 16' 6".

Thanks to you both for the Welcome...and good to know it's a SS. Yeah, I was hoping to test it's fish karma this morning, but just to darn wore out. Bought it Monday, took the grand kids out and pulled them around on a tube a couple of days this week and we've got a big landscaping project going on in the back yard. To much work in 100+ degree heat. Next weekend for sure... Thanks again,,

We're not used to seeing an older water-ready tinny. But it looks like you found one. A good looking SS. Welcome to the Wild World of Tin.

Re: What model Starcraft is this?

It's in pretty good shape, that's for sure. All new floors, 3 bank charger, new stereo, new seats, 12v 52 lb thrust trolling motor, rod holders, both storage and trolling, and a 95 70 HP Yamaha that runs great. I've got a few minor things to work on. It needs a new bilge pump and the 12v accessory outlets don't seem to work quite right, but that's about it. Might get a larger fuel tank. It's got a 6 gallon tank now and I took a 2 gallon reserve that I had to use my first day out.
It porpoises pretty good when I try to trim up the motor very much, but I had a lot of weight in the rear. Two adults and 3 children, two pretty good size. It's got one more pin hole to go lower on the motor, so I'll try that. Should give me a bit better hole shot and plain out a bit quicker (though it's not bad now.) But I think I should be able to trim the motor up considerably more than I can now. I had a 94 Nitro that I could trim the prop practically out of the water and it wouldn't porpoise. I've done some reading here and seems like sometimes on a motor swap, the new motor is mounted to low and causes this. I haven't dug into it that much yet or looked at where my motor lines up with the hull yet. It's really smooth when trimmed all the way down, so it's not a huge priority. Oh,, I can't forget, I need to order a Bimini top for it to give my little lady some shade when needed. :) I look forward to chatting with everyone as I get to work on her,,, and share some fish pics!

I'm sorry, barato2, but I'm not sure exactly what you're needing. I posted pics of my boat in my first post of the thread and the one question I asked was answered in the 2nd post to the thread. Please let me know what photos or description you're needing to be able to help me further.
Thanks,,
