Hey guy I am wanting to repaint the interior of my little 16" center console .Kinda looking at doing some type of splatter paint.... ,I want something that is durable and that will last awhile and wont be slick when wet., Thought about using the bedliner material but not sure about that. Just looking for some advise on what kind of paint I should use.Boat has a bunch of screw holes that Im going to fill before I paint. I think I want a paint that I can roll on. rather than spray. Thanks for any help

How about durabak - similar to bedliner but more durable.
Textured rustoleum would work too.

Check out mike lammert's center console thread. He did an excellent non-skid pattern on his. Don't have the link handy, but it should show up in search.

An inexpensive method that is durable and looks good is to use Rustoleum or Valspar Acrylic Oil based paint and add an acrylic enamel hardener. This yields an extremely durable finish that can be rolled on. For anti skid properties you can add sand to the mix at a ratio you find agreeable. Once the paint is dry you can then come back with an "Off" collor and spatter the surface to give you the desired "Zolatone" effect. I did this on my boat with Great Results!. Sanded it down, wiped it down with acetone, and rolled it on with a roller. Came back with a Wallpaper Paste brush and did the spatter effect. Cost less than $50 bucks to do it all.

Hey Thanks Patrick! I appreciate the kind words! Yes Replica, there are lots of different products you can use depending of the outcome you are looking for.....my paint job was definately not cheap, but it came out beautiful, extremely durable, and non skid where I needed it to be. Hopefully it will last many, many years, but that is yet to be determined. It appears that what you are trying to paint is a molded gel coat surface, so be sure to use a good primer! Whatever you do plan to do, be sure to do your prep thoroughly, and wipe with acetone or similar solvent to clean! Good luck with it, and post some pics when you get it done!
