What paint for a Mercarb?

Guys,<br /> I stripped all the black paint off my 1989 2Bbl Mercarb while rebuilding it.<br /><br />I was considering repainting with high heat Duplicolor (from Advanced Auto Parts) or Rust Resistant from AAP.<br /><br />Is there any reason to specifically use Mercruiser (or Marine) paint? Or is Auto paint good?<br /><br />Any suggestions on what type of paint to use?<br /><br />Also, any suggestions on how to repaint the external linkage without affecting performance?<br /><br />Thanks<br />Wake

Almost Every Engine, Carb., Etc., I've ever Built was painted with a Super Duper. Lasts Forever Paint.......<br /><br />Rustolium,....From a Rattle Can,....... Pick a Color.......

I have always used engine enamel on everything with nearly perfect results even underwater.Charlie

I've used the Merc stuff, and it's about the last choice. Rustolium and Krylon works great on engines and carbs.
