what pitch prop to use?

I have a 2001 200hp optimax on a 23' wa.. what would be a good pitch. The motor is a cr and I found a good deal on a 23p laser II and was wondering if this would do? I am having a hard time finding a cr prop at a reasonable price.

you need to first find out the current max rpm with the prop you have now - i assume you have a tachometer ?

I just bought the motor with no prop..

There are several websites that have prop calculators. You might want to use one to get an idea on where to start.

This website has a lot of general data on props and a calculator that you can use.

I found the material useful when I was first learning some about props.
