what points for 1989 2.3 cobra

napa can tell you. off my head i can't remember cuz my brain cells are shot. coors does that to you.

I have an 88 2.3 cobra. I remember reading somewhere that there was something different on marine points. Brain cell issue here as well. If Iboats dosn't have them, I know boatfix does. Our Napa don't carry sierra parts.

The points Napa sells for that motor don't exactly fit...I went through that last year. The rubbing block is slightly off and it affects the timing. If you have a dealer close by that sells OMC or Bombadier parts they carry a tune up kit that includes the points, condenser, and rotor.

Recommended plugs are motorcraft AWSF-32 or Champion RS12YC. Gap is .035

I have a 1989 2.3 cobra. I had a local marine do a tuneup at the beginning of this season changing the points, condensor and rotor. They started by trying to use Sierra parts and then a couple of other sources, "manunr" is right the aftermarket stuff will not fit. BRP still makes a tuneup kit that fits, I bought mine on ebay (old OMC stock).

You can get the following parts through any Napa/Sierra parts store, and they should be able to find you spark plugs for it as well.

Hmmm, I guess I better call the Napa corporate office and tell them to pull the remaining stock and send out a recall notice for the ones already installed because they don?t fit.
