Hey Colm. Prop selection comes from in-use data. If we know what you have, and the performance numbers you observe now, we can help you with this choice. You should probably
read this first. Generally speaking, we run lower pitch props for pulling power or acceleration, and higher pitch props for speed. The "best" is a compromise that leans towards your intended use and loads.
Be aware there is no "right" prop. It's kinda like saying what's the best gear and tire for this hill on a wet morning, and then what's the best tire and gear for the Motorway in the sun. Depends on the car, the gearing, the diameter of the wheel etc. With props we get one gear and one tire for all situations while we have that particular prop installed. Probably a poor analogy, trying it on for the first time . . .
