What Prop? question for Hwsii

I have a 1984 Starcraft 16'SS with a 1993 90hp Johnson, I am taking it out for it's maiden voyage next week and have a couple of questions on Props. The o/b is new to me and a fresh rebuild, so I have to break it in, it came with an aluminum 3 blade 14x17 prop that is in like new condition. I think this is way to much prop for the motor. I had, and my brother has a 1981 115Evenrude and they both ran very well with a 3 blade aluminum 13.25x17. Mine was on a 16' fiberglass Marlin that was very heavy and ran 5000 rpm at 36mph. So I am thinking the prop I have on the 90 is way to much and will cause the motor to lug. Should I just run this one next week and post the results or does someone recommend a better starting point.

Had the boat out for the first time and it ran great. The info I have for your calculations are as follows.
1984 Starcraft SS 16 foot aluminum open bow deep V
Bottom is straight with no dents.
Motor is 1993 Johnson 90 Hp with what I believe is a Johnson Prop 14 X 17
Weight is 1700 pounds, boat, motor, two occupants, fuel and gear.
WOT was 5100 RPM
Speed was GPS 39.2 mph
Motor is mounted with anticavation plate 3/4 inch above the bottom line of the keel

Dozer, move the motor up one more notch, and lets see if we can get some more RPM and speed, your prop slip is fine.
