What seal would cause this leak?

Just had the input seal replaced. Put it all back together, filed with oil, did vacuum test (no pressure test because I don't have a tester set up yet) and found it would drop from 10in. to 5in. within about 8 seconds. After I gave up for a couple days, I noticed this.....

What seal would cause this and how much of a pain is it to change? The only reason I didn't do the input shaft seal myself is because I don't have a press or the special tools. Is this seal something I can change myself without any special tools?

Well I think I already figured it out. I leaked a bunch of oil when I was filling it and I think it ran under the anode. I pretty sure that is what it is. Anyways... I still gotta figure out why i'm not holding vacuum. Maybe I'll do the pressure test and see if oil leaks out somewhere.

I would do the pressure test. I don't know, but maybe the seal isn't meant to hold a vacuum?

The normal test on an outdrive is a pressure AND vacuum test. Vacuum checks the ability to keep water out and pressure checks the ability to keep oil in. But again, I do plan on doing the pressure test, I just havnt done it yet. Thanks though. :D

Yup, do a pressure test with around 10lbs of pressure. It should give you a good idea where your leak would be

I freakin hope. But with my luck, it will be somewhere where I can't see.

The pressure test is on the list for tomorrow.

Couldn't see the one on mine with original pressure test but if that's the case, look closely at the shift shaft seal. That is where my leak was.
