I just bought new controls and want to get new cables. I'm seeing Extreme, Red Jacket among others. What are decent cables and which numbers/style do I need. 660A..33c among all the others numbers available?

Ayuh,..... The ones that fit whatever controller you bought , 'n with Mercruiser ends on the other, that are long enough, but not to long,.....

Do the Mercruiser ends have anything to do with the numbers like 33c and 3300 or are those for the controller side?

I don't think there's any adapter for a 33c style end to work with mercury

Like Bondo says, the cables for mercruiser have proprietary ends on them. Need specific cables

I'm doing some research. It looks like 600A cables have the Mercruiser ends and 33c are universal.. "Extreme" are have a tighter bend radius and seem to be better than the standard cables. I'm going to get Seastar 600A Which I believe are OEM or close enough and standard type cables for my simple application
