I am trying to fit the upper on a 280 outdrive. Looking at the schematics there is three part numbers for the shims. None of these part numbers list what what the thickness is or atleast I don't think so? I have not measured what I need yet, just trying to figure out what I need when I get to that point.
Thanks!

Here is a .pdf file of the parts book with the thicknesses of the shims in it.
Note: The thickness is in MM, not inches.

Re: What shims for 280 upper?

I have taken the measurements now and I am ending up with a negative shim number of .1mm.
Upper .756
Int: .765
(-.009 + .004) -.005
Going by what the Seloc manual says I need to subtract the the measurement of the int from the upper and then add .004. This leaves me with -.005 or approximately -.1mm.

If my math is right this puts me over without having any shims. Did I get these steps backwards? What would be the risk of running it the way it is?
