What should you do after you buy a used motor and it works fine...

It's a Merc 150 XR6, 1996. Don't know if there is an hour meter built into the motor but not one on the boat console that I can see. The motor runs like a top, starts right up, idles fine. It's 2 stroke so no oil to change other than the lube in the lower unit (I had a previous post about that). Is the old saying, if it ain't broke don't fix it need to apply here? Or should I start changin plugs, etc.

Is there an online manual for this motor on this website? I would like to change the impeller. It pee's ok at idle and would like it a little stronger but it REALLY flows good at high RPM so like I said to do or not to do...that is the question.

Wouldn't hurt to give it a tune up and change the impeller. Especially if you don't know when the last time it was done. Free on line manuals are as rare as hen's teeth. Invest in a factory manual. You won't regret it.

Just be careful with the oil injection. I had a '95 xr6 on a procraft. The oil injection went out and it ruined a cylinder. If I were you I would get rid of it and premix.
