What size alligator clips for MK Endura 36?

I don't have any clips on there at all now, don't remember what the original ones looked like, and I was just going to eyeball the size.

Any suggestions? I was thinking like 3 or 4 inch.

If Minn-Kota would ever honor my request to email a PDF, I would know how many amps. But since I've been asking for THREE WEEKS, I'm not optimistic I'll ever get it.

I'll go to their site now and see if they give any specs. (I don't think the motor head would indicate that, but I'm too lazy to walk outside now to check.) It's such an old motor, I don't know if I'll find anything on it. But I can't imagine that my 36 would draw much different from a brand-new 36.

But I learned that amp draw is going to vary based on trolling speed, so I guess you go with the highest draw?

Incredibly, Minn-Kota called me to say they don't have the manual in PDF form any longer, so they're sending me a hard copy.

Huh? Don't they own a scanner over there?

I'm grateful, but it seemed kind of backwards to me.

Finally got the catalog.

It doesn't indicate amp draw, but on the parts list, it indicates its original "spade terminals" as 14 Gauge HD. (Lead wires are 14G also.)

By spade terminals, it refers to U shaped connectors to screw onto the battery terminals. I would rather use alligator clips, so is the gauge the same?

If your battery has 1/4" terminals the use a loop or spade end. If you must use clamps, match them to these specs:
