I have a 21ft deep v center console that weighs about 2500lbs loaded in the water.I would like to know what size kicker motor to use.4 stroke or 2 stroke for best torque? And how do I tell if I need a long or short shaft?Ive been looking at 9.9 motors ,is this enough hp?I will be using it for trolling and get back if needed.

Logger,
A 9.9 4 stroke with 25" shaft should more than fit the bill. However, when you go to buy it(new), tell them the intended use so they can prop it to give you the best performance for your application.

Ditto, OMCTECH. Propping it right makes ALL the difference.

Don't expect to unclamp you kicker and plane a 14" aluminum boat. Not if it's propped right for the big one!
