What size motor for my boat?

Good morning every one,

I just got a 1975 aeorcraft. A friend has an older Mercury 80 horse power. Would that be too much power for it? Thanks.

What HP is the boat rated for? Look for something that is at least 70% of that or you will be underpowered.......

I didn't get a book with the boat. I also did google the name of the boat to find some info but to no avail yet.

My son found this one. It said the maximum horsepower is 115
