I am looking at a Mercruiser I/O with w 5.0 liter motor. Is this a 302 Ford or a 305 Chevy block? Also, was it available only with 4 bbl. carb? If so , what is HP?
Also, with light use (under 200 hours in 10 years) in salt water, what is life expectancy of manifolds/risers if motor is salt water cooled?
Thanks.

Ayuh,... What Vintage is it,..??
Unless it's a 197something, it's a Chevy...

Does this Mercruiser have a year? The Ford 302 was only used in the 70's and was not actually called a 5.0L engine. The engines that say 5.0L on them are Chevy.
Easy way to tell, the Ford has the distributor on the front of the engine, Chevy on the back of the engine.

200 hours on 10 years is light use, but it's not using marine engines that kills them, it's not using marine engines that kills them. The less hours the worst!
